What you receive
- Scope and limitations stated explicitly — what was not inspected is listed
- Findings described by location and consequence, not adjectives
- Measured data wherever an instrument answers the question — thickness in millimetres, moisture on a stated scale, sea trial figures
- Referenced photographs with a scale in every defect image
- Defect list graded urgent / short-term / monitor, each with a recommended timescale
- A conclusion that answers the instruction, plus the surveyor’s independence declaration
Independence
Survey and inspection engagements are contracted through PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara (technical arm). Survey findings are issued independently and are not conditioned on any sale, brokerage, or repair contract. If a defect makes the vessel a poor buy, the report says so.

Common questions
What does Marine Survey Indonesia do?
We are an independent marine survey and inspection desk covering 25 Indonesian ports, attending pre-purchase, condition and valuation, hull and machinery, insurance and damage, draft, bunker, cargo and statutory surveys.
Are you independent of sellers, brokers and yards?
Yes. Survey engagements are contracted through PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara (technical arm), and survey findings are issued independently and are not conditioned on any sale, brokerage, or repair contract.
How much does a marine survey cost?
USD 650 – 3,200 for leisure vessels under 25 m, USD 2,200 – 6,500 for commercial condition surveys, and USD 800 – 1,800 per draft survey attendance. Travel and third-party costs are separate. Full bands on the cost page.
How quickly can a surveyor attend?
Same day or next day at a port with a resident desk; 24 to 72 hours elsewhere depending on flights and boat transfer.
Is the report in English?
Yes. An Indonesian-language summary is available on request, and there is a dedicated Indonesian-language page.
Can a foreign buyer arrange a survey without being in Indonesia?
Yes. Send the listing and the port, receive a written scope and a USD fee band, confirm, and we arrange access directly with the broker or owner.
Do you attend at anchorage?
Yes — much of our commercial work, particularly coal draft surveys in Kalimantan, is at anchorage by boat transfer, including overnight attendance.
Will the report be accepted by an insurer or a bank?
It is written for that reader: measured data, referenced photographs, graded recommendations and a stated valuation method. We cannot bind any underwriter or lender, and the report says so.
