Direct answer

Two desks handle instructions. Yacht and leisure surveys — pre-purchase, condition, insurance, phinisi and liveaboard — go to the leisure desk. Commercial and cargo work — draft, bunker, cargo, on/off-hire, P&I, hull and machinery, statutory — goes to the commercial desk. Both reply with surveyor availability, written scope and a USD fee band.

What to send us

The more of this you send in the first message, the faster and more accurate the quotation:

Information that speeds up a quotation

  • Vessel type, length and build year — or the listing link.
  • The port or anchorage where she lies, and whether she is afloat, alongside or hauled out.
  • The purpose of the survey: purchase, insurance, financing, charter entry, claim, quantity.
  • Your date range rather than a single date — it lowers the travel cost.
  • Whether a haul-out, diver or sea trial can be arranged, and by whom.
  • For cargo and quantity work: the cargo, the terminal, the expected loading or discharge window, and who else will be attending.
  • Who the report is addressed to — you, an underwriter, a bank or a club correspondent.

What happens next

  1. We confirm surveyor availability for your date range, usually within one working day.
  2. You receive a written scope stating exactly what will and will not be inspected, and a fee band in USD with third-party costs identified separately.
  3. You confirm, and we invoice. For a first engagement, payment is due before attendance.
  4. We arrange access with the owner, broker, yard or terminal.
  5. We attend, and you get a verbal preliminary the same day.
  6. The written report follows within the stated turnaround.

Survey findings are issued independently and are not conditioned on any sale, brokerage, or repair contract.
